Hadith ~ Whether his is an oppressor or is oppressed

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (SAWS) said, “Help your brother, whether his is an oppressor or is oppressed”. A man enquired: “O Messenger of Allah! I help him when he is oppressed, but how can I help him when he is an oppressor?” The Messenger of Allah (SAWS) said, “You can keep him from committing oppression. That will be your help to him”. [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Ayaat 46-54 ~ Fussilat (Explained in detail)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

Listen to Recitation

46. Whosoever does righteous good deed it is for (the benefit of) his ownself, and whosoever does evil, it is against his ownself, and your Lord is not at all unjust to (His) slaves.

47. (The learned men) refer to Him (Alone) the knowledge of the Hour. No fruit comes out of its sheath, nor does a female conceive (within her womb), nor brings forth (young), except by His Knowledge. And on the Day when He will call unto them (polytheists) (saying): “Where are My (so-called) partners (whom you did invent)?” They will say: “We inform You that none of us bears witness to it (that they are Your partners)!”

48. And those whom they used to invoke before will fail them, and they will perceive that they have no place of refuge (from Allâh’s punishment).

49. Man (the disbeliever) does not get tired of asking good (things from Allâh), but if an evil touches him, then he gives up all hope and is lost in despair.

50. And truly, if We give him a taste of mercy from us, after some adversity (severe poverty or disease, etc.) has touched him, he is sure to say: “This is for me (due to my merit), I think not that the Hour will be established. But if I am brought back to my Lord, Surely, there will be for me the best (wealth, etc.) with Him. Then, We verily, will show to the disbelievers what they have done and We shall make them taste a severe torment.

51. And when We show favour to man, he withdraws and turns away, but when evil touches him, then he has recourse to long supplications.

52. Say: “Tell me, if it (the Qur’ân) is from Allâh, and you disbelieve in it, who is more astray than one who is in opposition far away (from Allâh’s Right Path and His obedience).

53. We will show them Our Signs in the universe, and in their ownselves, until it becomes manifest to them that this (the Qur’ân) is the truth. Is it not sufficient in regard to your Lord that He is a Witness over all things?

54. Verily! They are in doubt concerning the Meeting with their Lord? (i.e. Resurrection after their deaths, and their return to their Lord). Verily! He it is Who is surrounding all things!

Sura 41. Fussilat (Explained in detail)

Commentary ~ The Flock is the Responsibility of the Shepherd

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

Sa’eed bin ‘Aamir (may Allah be pleased with him) said to ‘Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), “Indeed, I advise you with words that are taken from the comprehensive precepts of Islam. Fear Allah in how you deal with people and do not fear people with how you are with Allah. Let not your speech be contrary to your actions, for indeed, the best of speech is that which is in accordance with action. Love those Muslims that are near to you and those that are far, as you love yourself and your family. Do not fear blame or hardship in your quest for what you know to be true.”

Hadith ~ Never said ‘Uff’

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: “I never felt any piece of velvet or silk softer than the palm of the Messenger of Allah (SAWS), nor did I smell any fragrance more pleasant than the smell of the Messenger of Allah (SAWS). I served him for ten years, and he never said ‘Uff’ (an expression of disgust) to me. He never said ‘Why did you do that?’ for something I had done, nor did he ever say ‘why did you not do such and such’ for something I had not done. (Al-Bukhari and Muslim).

Commentary: This Hadith reflects the sublime morality of the Messenger of Allah that he never found faults with the doings of his valet nor did he ever scold him during his ten-year-long service. To be sure, it is something unique in human history. May the Ummah, too, adopt the refined way of living of its Prophet (SAWS).
